Big Issues
In class, we were given a survey on our thoughts dealing with the big issues in Psychology including, rationality and irrationality of human, stability and change in life, and nature versus nurture concept. The survey consists of 15 statements, which we were asked to rate between 0-5, ranging on our level of agreement towards each statement. After doing the survey and calculating the scores, I found out my true thoughts on these big issues.
In the irrationality – rationality category, I scored in the middle range, siding more on the rationality side. In the stability – change category, my score lies on the change side, showing to me that I strongly believe that human change and develop through out a life time. Lastly, I scored in the middle range on the nature – nurture category. This means that I believe that both nature, our inherited instincts, and nurture, our experience, help shape the way we are.
